Daily Duties at Conoco Phillips:

In the summer of 2009 I worked for ConocoPhillips in Cocodrie, Louisiana. I lived out on an actual platform in the marsh and worked a seven on and seven off schedule. My main goal was to learn how production systems worked and to update some process flow diagrams of wells in the field. I rode around in the marsh each day with operators and learned all about production equipment from them, as well as, assisted them in any repairs or maintenance they performed on oil production systems. I developed excellent communication skills as was necessary for the job. I asked many questions all summer to gain knowledge about the different equipment in the field. It was the first thing I had to do before I could update any flow diagrams. After I learned about the different pieces of equipment, what they looked like, and how they functioned, I was able to successfully update the diagrams of all of the wells in the field.
