Daily Duties at At&T:

 Work as a subject matter expert representing operations on systems and services on UNIX and Windows-based systems. Supporting AT&T Mobility 24/7 Network Operation Center.  Provide implementation support for installation and maintenance of Data Center infrastructure. Provide implementation and support of BARCO Audio/Visual systems.  Work closely with engineering teams to help ensure timely and successful deployments of future services. Perform final operations readiness assessments of new services and document results for management review.  Provide on-call support to resolve operations problems for established services.  Oversee or conduct the installation and configuration of server and storage hardware and software as necessary to support operating systems, applications, and databases in a distributed computing environment.  Operate and maintain the computing environment, including system upgrades, file management, user access, performance monitoring and tuning, software distribution and configuration management, event monitoring, data storage retention, tape backups and disaster recovery.  Maintain service security through compliance with security guidelines, audits, access validation, and user education. • Work closely with other Operations team members, including Database Administrators, Management, Engineers, Vendors (Sun/Oracle, Nokia, Ericson, Siemens, Nortel) and MNOC staff. Develop, compile, maintain and review essential documentation to ensure reliable operation of systems and services. • Identify problems, trends, deficiencies, and effectively communicate such conditions to peers, management and other work groups. Work on special technical projects to support Operations as assigned
