Daily Duties at United Health Care Optum:

1.Inpatient Care Advocate: Telephonic position managing members in acute care setting. Worked with attending MD and hospital staff to document needs and assist in discharge planning to appropriate level of care. 2. Preservice Dept. Manager: Managed 10-16 non clinical staff to research and approve or deny ancillary services, durable medical equipment and specialty pharmacy requests for members based on their coverage. 3. Predictive Model Dept Manager: Managed 8 RNs and 2 non clinical support staff to contact and assist members identified as high risk and/or high cost to evaluate care and compliance and assist in resolving any problems with accessibility, compliance, etc. Intervened for members to establish participation in disability management programs offerred by insurance, company, arranged for PCP intervention as appropriate and suggested community services available in member's area.
