Daily Duties at General Electric:
-Established the multi-year technology architecture road map and obtained a buy-in from seven separate business and IT decision makers including CIO and VP of Operations -Defined the SOA roadmap, technology blueprint,service SLA guidelines, service identification and governance process -Developed the System/portfolio, Application and Solution architecture. This system handles 100,000+ vehicle orders per year, transactions worth 3billion dollars, processes 50,000 vehicle configurations per year and transmits order automatically to Toyota, Ford, GM and other Vehicle manufacturers -Reduced the complexity of the legacy system by using SOA, Event Driven, Grid based architectures and open source technologies -Provided estimates for the project using top down and bottom up estimating techniques -Introduced new concepts and technologies to the enterprise(ex. TC Server, Complex Event Processing/CEP/Esper) -Defined the release and iteration plan for the product using Agile methodology -Researched and evaluated different Web Service Frameworks(Spring WS, AXIS2 and Xfire) -Led and facilitated JAD sessions, conducted Iterative design and code reviews -Provided estimates for the project using top down and bottom up estimating techniques -Consulted other projects as a Subject Matter Expert on Application Architecture best practices J2ee/Spring and Performance tuning -Partnered with cross-functional teams to provide technology direction on Security Architecture/Identity Management to other products -Participated in enterprise, portfolio and project level governance activities. -Assessed the J2EE Deployment Architecture for GE and recommended alternatives deployment topologies to alleviate performance bottlenecks - As part of GE’s enterprise architecture team developed and reviewed the architectural model of enterprise applications -Provided an assessment of the current Cloud environment and its applicability to GE’s business. Did a proof of concept in force.com and Amazon EC2 cloud platforms -Evaluated and introduced new tools and open source api’s to speed up development and reduce total cost
