Daily Duties at National Opinion Research Center:

IT Project Manager * Direct line responsibility for a team of software engineers and business analysts and will be part of the overall IT leadership team at NORC. * Provide project management for complex software development projects. * Functional management tasks such as resource allocation, personnel management, technical guidance and mentorship, conflict resolution and communication with senior management. * Develop the IT project plan, and manage the project’s scope, schedule, resources, and budget. * Risk identification and mitigation planning and control, with hands on management of the IT team resources, tasks, and deliverables. * Works under limited supervision and is expected to take an active role in developing and enforcing departmental and organizational policies, standards, and procedures. * Manages multiple project priorities. * Works with the office’s business owners on planning and preparing for new business and project work. Timely communication with stakeholders both inside and outside of IT is a critical dimension of this role. January 1997 – December 1999 National Opinion Research Center Chicago, IL Technical Questionnaire Analyst * Analyzes social science research questionnaires and recommends best implementation for computer-assisted interviewing (CAI) * Designs and implements CAI questionnaires using software specifically designed for that purpose * Prepares data for loading and reading into CAI questionnaires to facilitate their use * Exports data from CAI questionnaires for review and analysis * Works under limited supervision and is expected to take an active role in developing and enforcing departmental and organizational policies, standards, and procedures. January 1990 – December 2006 National Opinion Research Center Chicago, IL Telephone Center Coordinator, Telephone Center Supervisor * Supervise telephone interviewers and supervisors carrying out research activities, calling respondents to collect data * Supervise management of the sample, ensuring all respondents are contacted and as many interviews as possible are successfully conducted * Works with limited supervision and reports directly to Telephone Center Director
