Daily Duties at Cardinal Health Financial Shared Services:
• Maintaining the timeliness of the 3-day closing schedule by providing divisional, regional, and/or corporate personnel the information necessary to facilitate the closing process with respect to companies assigned. • Preparing monthly journal entries and adjusting journal entries utilizing J.D. Edwards general ledger system and collecting the proper support for such entries • Documenting policies and procedures for Sarbanes-Oxley Compliance and testing accounting processes for internal control purposes for Sarbanes-Oxley Compliance • Preparing various supporting excel spreadsheets • Preparing timely and accurate balance sheet account reconciliations as well as income statement accounts • Performing intercompany reconciliations by utilizing Hyperion enterprise system • Working with the Gelco implementation team to bring business units on to the Gelco expense reporting system • Reviewing financial statements for accuracy each month • Assisting tax department in the preparation of quarterly/annual Federal and State packages • Reconciling cash and performing bank reconciliations for billion dollar bank accounts • Managing accounts payable processes and processing invoices utililizing J.D. Edwards accounts payable system • Training employees on various accounting processes • Researching specific problems or accounting issues which may arise with one or several divisions • Working on specific projects as assigned by the Director of Finance • Assisting the director of finance with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and yearly budgets for multiple companies • Working with Solution Services Dept. to resolve customer issues in an expedient and tactful manner
