Supervised by Dr. Keith D White (PI) and Tana Bleser (Phd Candidate) I made the complete Electrical System for a Vestibulator (like a big turn table) for biomedical application which will be used to do experiments on Autistic children and study the response of their Vestibular System (Inner Ear). The Electrical System included custom designed and fabricated 80v/ 5A Brushless DC motor Driver, custom designed and fabricated board with an Altera Cyclone II FPGA and speed/position linear controller, trapezoidal velocity / Sinusoidal position trajectory generator in Digital Hardware designed using VHDL. I made the Brushless DC motor using a Washing Machine motor and added Hall Effect sensors to it for position feedback used for phase commutation.
What they like about Sensory Processes Lab, Psychology Dept, University Of Florida :
A hiring company that offers alternative approaches to pay, performance bonuses, and/or equity in the firm is very attractive to you. You're generally less interested in working for an organization offering only traditional, salary-based compensation, one with limited opportunity to acquire equity in the firm, or one that does not actively promote skill development. In addition, you are more likely to choose a company that offers a variety of internal career options, with defined career paths. You view the learning of new skills and development of your expertise as key to your career advancement. These aspects of an organization may become even more important to you as you progress in your field, and are especially critical if you change career or occupation.
