Daily Duties at Cross Country Trav Corp:
Worked as a travel nurse in the intermediate care unit and the telementry step down unit. Monitored clients on telemetry and watched for acute changes. Conduct patient assessments head to toe every 4 hours, administer medications, administer IV therapy, and wound care as needed. Draw blood as ordered. Start IVs as needed. Monitor input and output. Turn clients every 2 hours if needed. Take off orders written by the physician. Discharge paperwork completed on all clients that are discharge, make sure they understand their medications, and that a follow-up appointment has been made for them. Complete the admission process on the computer for all new admissions. Transfer any clients that need either more intensive care or less intensive care. Monitor clients that are preoperative, postoperative, heart problems, congestive heart failure, heart attacks, strokes. Provide education on their medications that they are taken and all treatments that the patients are receiving. Get informed consents signed if the client is going for surgery.
