Daily Duties at Trinity Youth Services :

As a Child Care Worker at Trinity Youth Services, I worked with a multidisciplinary team to help improve the lives of adolescents in our care. As a member working with a multidisciplinary team, I assisted in amending socially unacceptable behaviors by documenting residents’ behaviors and by modeling more socially appropriate behavior. To discourage socially aberrant behaviors in the residents, I applied principles of Group Centered Leadership and provided them with advice. Through group centered leadership, I endeavored to encourage responsibility in the residents by holding them accountable for their actions. I also attempted to correct deviant behaviors in the residents by setting bi-weekly behavioral goals for them. I applied intervention techniques in an attempt to defuse crisis situations. To ensure the physical safety of the residents, I maintained supervision of the residents. I also provided for the physiological needs of the residents by preparing daily meals, and administering medications. I also helped to ensure the physical health of the residents by performing monthly clothing inventories, ordering clothing for the residents, and by maintaining a supply of hygiene products for the residents. Duties also included performing weekly supply inventories, budgeting money allocated for food expenditures, and handling money allocated for recreational activities.
