Daily Duties at Lawyers Title Insurance Corporation:
• Analysis and underwriting of extraordinary title risks. • Coordination and closing of local and nationwide single and multi-site commercial transactions. • Mediation with counsel for sellers, buyers and lenders to resolve title issues to assure the successful conclusion of the transaction. • Preparation of documents related to closing, including escrow agreements, closing/settlement statements, escrow receipt and disbursement statements, clearance documents, and indemnity agreements. • Examination of title files, preparation of commitments and policies, review of legal documents and surveys, and coordination of post closing processing and document recordings. • Construction escrows, including the preparation of escrow agreements, lien waiver reviews, owner and general contractor’s statement reviews; and disbursements. • Training of paralegals in new underwriting and escrow issues and procedures, monitoring their performance in closing preparation, conduct and follow-up to assure understanding, thoroughness and uniformity of responsibilities and procedures. • Assisting sales representatives in marketing efforts. • Guest presenter at seminars hosted by customer law firms and professional organizations.
