Daily Duties at Colmery O'neil Va/ Va Eastern Kansas Health Care:

Part of a 3-pharmacist primary care team in which we followed our own assigned panel of patients. The area of specialty we were responsible for was the Oncology Clinic, Our team also provided pharmacy services to the Urgent Care Department. The team also covered 3-4 shifts a week in the inpatient section of the medical center. The 3 pharmacists rotated through this duty so all each did about three shifts per month in the inpatient area. I would see the patient immediately after they saw the physician. I would review the chart and take off any orders written by the physician. I would counsel the patients and answer any questions. I would process the medication order so that the patient could pick it up in the facility's outpatient pharmacy department that day. I was a member of the safety committee of the facility. I would consult with the physician during the clinic visit, as requested. I would calculate and double check orders for the oncology patients. I would supervise the preparation and delivery of these orders to the oncology clinic.
