Daily Duties at Nc Department Of Transportation:

Departmental resource (of over 7,000 contract and permanent employees in assigned areas via 18 field personnel technicians) for all personnel policy, compensation, recruitment, and policy. Recruitment – screen employment applications for vast array of job classes within North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT); log appropriate information into applicant tracking system. Approve all employee data in BEACON using the appropriate forms. Salary Administration - Administer the 3 different pay plans of traditional, career banding, and competency based pay. Approve routine packages of lower classifications done by Personnel Technician II’s and Personnel Technician III’s for accuracy and policy compliance. Train HR representatives on BEACON on an as needed basis either through BEACON online training job aides, job aides designed by me, or by providing job aides. Classification - Perform classification functions such as preparing analyst notes for assigned classification Areas such in-ranges, reallocations, establishing new positions, etc. Participates in OSSOG classification studies by attending and/or conducting standardized interviews, providing analysis for OSSOG positions that have good comparisons, answer routine labor market surveys from external groups. Took notes and participated in NCDOT’s man hour survey and evaluation; compiled data; analyze data using Microsoft Excel. Participated in the NCDOT’s Program Evaluation study by typing, dictating information, gathering information, and performing calculations for the analyzation section of the study. Participated in NCDOT’s DMV Program Review in reviewing actions, providing feedback, and assisting in compiling final report. Serve as lead worker for a 4 person working group advising on salary administration, policy, and provide/explain job aides made by me or found on websites. Serve as committee chair for several different HR related projects as needed ranging from large organizational reorganizations using Excel, SAP HR informational system, and organizational charts to projects related to identifying training opportunities to the field personnel technicians.
