Eds Work Values

Daily Duties at Eds:

Interact with clients and other EDS support groups to develop and implement a Capacity Planning strategy for the Treasury Web Application Infrastructure, a common platform for Treasury web applications. The three TWAI sites provide five environments comprised of over 250 servers running Solaris and Windows. Performance data captured by BMC PATROL agents are collected for analysis using BMC Perform and Predict. • Wrote a Capacity Planning Methodology document for delivery to the customer. • Analyzed applications, both in development and production, in order to establish BMC configuration settings and workload categories relevant to TWAI business plans. • Developed and distributed a questionnaire for application support staff to elicit information on projected requirements for CPU, memory, storage and bandwidth resources. Conduct interviews with customer and EDS support personnel where necessary to obtain further information. • Perform complex data analyses integrating multiple data sources to provide forecasts of workload growth. • Construct models using BMC Perform and Predict and ran predictions of future CPU and memory requirements for 'what-if' scenarios based on workload forecasts. • Perform ad hoc analysis of T1 bandwidth requirements, and worked with network engineers to determine upgrade requirements. • Participate in the evaluation of Performance Data Base products. • Develop documents describing the Capacity Planning process for the TWAI project workbooks in compliance with CMMI initiatives. • Migration of Remedy Action Request System 5.1.2 to Web-based solution. Included Project Plan and working with vendors during implementation. • SAN Storage management on EMC – Centera, Symmetrix and DMX environments utilizing EMC tools such as ECC.
