Daily Duties at L 3 Communications Intelligence Contract:

Directed and launched strategic media relations, public affairs activities, communications planning and media campaigns for Linguist Operations and Technical Support Division (LOTSD). Collaborated in developing, planning and implementing broad communications strategy and outreach plans targeting diverse audiences, customers and stakeholders. Led two-person media relations staff to coordinate media campaigns, surveys, meetings and administrative functions. Managed Iraq-based support teams, developed media contacts and coordinated information dissemination. Reported to the Director of LOTSD and the VP of Middle East Operations. Key Achievements: - Created the first Media Relations Department for Linguist Operations and Technical Support Division within two months of hire through development of standard operating procedures, determination of resources, budget requirements, management of hiring and orientation processes. - Turned around two $275K media campaigns and achieved 100% of all U.S. Army Intelligence and Security Command goals by launching entirely new media campaigns focused on target audience. Developed campaign action plans with timelines and partnered with 15+ national print, television, radio and internet media outlets. - Raised national and international awareness with interest in mission and purpose of LOTSD by leading production of television ads and dissemination of press releases focused on driving passion to assist citizens of war-torn Iraq and Afghanistan. - Generated thousands of inquiries and applications through targeted global media placements for LOTSD linguists, linguist-analysts, and cultural training specialist positions with the U.S. military, NATO countries and coalition partners, U.S. Federal and State agencies and commercial enterprises in Iraq and Afghanistan. - Improved outreach Initiatives by evaluating media campaign performance through development, administration and analysis of surveys for LOTSD contractors. - Increased recruitment numbers through major media exposure with CNN, CBS Radio, The Washington Post, The Arab World, The Arab Times, Beirut Times, and multiple independent national/ international news bureaus and online outlets by pitching and coordinating production of positive stories focused on recruitment and placement of linguists, linguist-analysts and cultural training specialists of Arab/Middle Eastern descent. - Sustained results-driven media coverage by leveraging relationships with key media contacts on global and national levels. Pitched stories to international, national, and local media and provided on-the record comments to the press.
