Daily Duties at American Hairdresser/Men's Hairstylist Magazines:
Sold subscriptions only for both these technical magazines by calling on all beauty salons and barber shops from Thousand Oaks to San Diego 'door-to-door' on straight commission basis. Southern California was my territory and my office was out of my home as I worked mainly as an independent contractor for this company. Also sold at all beauty conventions throughout the state as well as made presentations to all beauty schools in my area for the purpose of selling the magazine subscription to students.
What they like about American Hairdresser/Men's Hairstylist Magazines:
The social vibrance of a hiring firm is very important to you. Your ability to make and maintain friendships there is a critical part of your decision. You would likely be dissatisfied with a workplace that is quiet, cold, or otherwise not particularly social. When you investigate a new hiring company, ask recruiters, managers, and potential co-workers about the social life and opportunities there. This is especially important when you are relocating; moving dramatically alters your social sphere both inside and outside the workplace.
