Daily Duties at People's Bank:

As a member of the Information Security Group, I implemented the necessary principles for the security domains within IT. Within my role as an Information Security Systems Specialist, I: •Maintained the security of systems, databases, applications (client/server and web), and network devices •Designed, established and monitored information security policies, guidelines, and procedures for access controls and asset protection in compliance to federal and state regulations (Sarbanes Oxley, GLBA, FISMA) •Wrote security baseline directives/policies concerning Firewall, Wintel, Unix and Anti-Virus platforms •Prepared Security Awareness and training for system administrators •Designed and implemented a Threat and Vulnerability Management Program where the Information Security and IT administrators maintain awareness of new vulnerabilities and threats that pertain to the environment •Managed the Wardialing Vulnerability scans to strengthen environment against any modem vulnerabilities or exploits •Maintain the network and host based intrusion detection system (IDS) infrastructure •Assisted in the development and implementation of an enterprise wide Logging and Monitoring program to account for any suspicious activity within the environment •Supported in the development of an Computer Incident Response Team program (CIRT) •Performed investigations for possible intrusions, access control violations, and online banking violations •Performed risk/vulnerability assessments of the environment to identify weaknesses that may exist by utilizing numerous vulnerability scanning tools •Monitored and reviewed firewall logs for any anomalies •Responsible for approving all security related configuration changes made to the network prior to deployment •Managed and enhanced the necessary controls to ensure that relationships between third party vendors met compliance standards and regulations •Responsible for management of assigned projects and application/systems training to administrators and end-users •Lead the User Provisioning Access Profile project to more efficiently allocate access to employees based on job functionality/ identity management •Managed security compliance for Telecom environment •Actively participated in the design and implementation of network perimeter – VPN and IDS •Conducted and assisted in vulnerability scanning •Audited compliance of firewalls, routers, and switches •Upgraded software being utilized •Prepared and documented disaster recovery and contingency plans •Evaluated and conducted risk assessments •Analyzed password strength using various password cracking tools
