Daily Duties at Department Of Homeland Security/Fema:
· Serves as primary point of contact for coordinating information management issues related to Mitigation disaster operations within the Regional, field and HQ offices, identifying other resources to improve internal communications, documenting lessons learned, best practices, and evaluations, disseminating critical information related to disaster operations, supporting training development, and marketing mitigation programs. · Supports Chief of Staff and Coordinators for Disaster Operations as needed to resolve issues and action items. · Interfaces with Regional Offices to identify program needs during close-out, post and pre-disaster times. ·Serves as a primary point of contact for managing, coordinating, updating, and evaluating Mitigation training and course materials. ·Coordinates Mitigation-related training requests from Headquarters and Field offices, as needed. ·Develops marketing materials that support and standardize Mitigation communication and outreach efforts and provide job-aid resources that will help field staff market mitigation programs effectively in the field. · Reviews incoming mail and correspondence for the supervisor. ·Provide administrative and technical supervision necessary for accomplishing the work of the unit. ·Composes non-technical correspondence and reports from oral instructions, information obtained from files, and data obtained from staff members. · Manages correspondence services for an organization with a mission that affects a wide range of agency activities. · Prepares responses that address clerical and administrative issues. · Develops background information and prepares outlines for the supervisor's public speaking engagements, papers, correspondence, and reports. • Uses automated tools to prepare graphics and overheads for presentation. ·Evaluates and advises on procedures for providing office administrative support. · Performs other duties as assigned.
