Recruited to revitalize struggling Brazilian subsidiary of world’s leading provider of railroad equipment, products, and services. Championed quality, productivity, cost containment, and customer satisfaction improvements. Directed entire South American operation including P&L management, business development, customer relationships, marketing, sales, engineering, procurement, supply chain, inventory control, and product development. Managed $8M annual budget, and team of 4 direct reports with 120-member union workforce divided into two shifts. Sourced raw materials and subcomponents from China, South Africa, Germany, and the United States. Reported to two corporate Directors in Germany. Partnered with sister companies in the United States, South Africa, Germany, Australia, and China to develop corporate strategy, plan tactical business operations, and drive attainment of corporate goals.
