Daily Duties at Alcoa North Atlantic Operations:

Production Supervisor / Maintenance Supervisor / Calcination and Railcar Shipment / Alcoa North Atlantic Operations. Point Comfort, Texas location Oversee the SAFETY and operations, maintenance, production of a 6 unit calciner facility which also includes the railcar loading. Monitor the overall process flow with a critical eye. Constant controls of environmental standards such as emissions must be at constant concern. Monitor proper use of energy and steam for gas suspension calciners at burn capacity, start-up and shutdowns as well. Oversee and plan all safety meetings and ABS, 5 ‘s planning and work place examination. Assess production performance and initiated lean manufacturing into the area with positive results. Conduct Internal Audits such as housekeeping and production performance .Monitor proper voltage usage of EP’s ( Environmental Pulsator’s ) .Work with planners in order organize scheduled maintenance in order to produce efficient production. Oversee maintenance on equipment and status of all outgoing and incoming scheduled requisitions to insure timely cost efficient scheduling. A system of conveyors must be monitored in order to move product from storage tank to railcar loading. Oversee specific weights and measures are followed by the (DOT / FRA ) This is also monitored and scheduled for inspection. Oversee all usage of natural gas, heat exchanger and boiler energy. Make sure proper scheduling of heat exchangers is followed for housekeeping routine objectives. Took this task upon myself to initialize a pm program for area cooling towers and heaters. Oversee a variety of dry hydrates and calcined aluminas that are produced upon clients request. I monitor all loading, scale management, and maintenance work for my shift. All production is sampled and reviewed for contamination. Have implemented the first set of effective operation expectations for the area. Have increased production as well as moral in the area in only four and a half months. Took the lowest producing shift and lead them to the top with a 100% improvement in safety. Conduct OSHA / MSHA inspections prior to official visits. Have now been given this opportunity once more. I believe in complete honesty on both parts. I also believe that in order to be a good leader, you must first know how to serve your people. I am a strict manager / supervisor but very fair as well. I believe in cost saving and implementation of all programs that save money and enable us to reach our production goals at the same time. Experience in 5’s implementation, kaizans, safety inspections under OSHA and MSHA regulations. Have maintained 2 years of no accidents and no first aid visits as well. Introduced pre-job and task assessments. ISO certification and knowledge obtained. Pareto methodology and lean manufacturing technology. I do require pre job assessments and target zero accidents. Have experience with root cause analysis for investigation purposes. Oracle Business Solutions for requisitions and work order is the program used at this facility. Overlook (pm) program on cooling tower pumps, slurry feed pumps, liquor pumps, centrifugal pumps, and steam turbines. Perform LO/TO and oversee this process as well.
