Daily Duties at Northrop Grumman:

Six months term job as Consulting Project Manager (was extended for 6 months till July 01, 2009) doing multi tasking SABRE, IDIQ and Katrina projects at Keesler Air Force Base. Oversaw all subcontractors working on Northrop Grumman projects for SABRE and IDIQ work at Keesler Air Force Base. Work included multiple jobs at Keesler Hospital, base Health Spa and the Woman’s Outpatient Clinic. I was also responsible for three Katrina projects, the $1.4 million Refueler and Maintenance facility, the $20.1 million Fire and Rescue Station and the $1.1 million Munitions Storage Facility. It was my responsibility to inspect and review these projects as they were being built. I attended QC and weekly progress meeting. Reviewed RFI’s and RFQ’s requested by the Architect, Engineer and/or the Contractor, did inspection reports and approved draw requests. It was my position to advise the ROICC (Navy “Sea Bees” construction managers) of potential problems, to provide and find answers where possible in order to keep these projects on time and in budget. When I left, all the projects involved in were ahead of schedule and within budget, if not completed.

What they like about Northrop Grumman:

You give high priority to hiring firms with prestige. Market reputation and prestige of a firm may be determined through on-line research, and conversations with individuals working in your target industry. Note that firms "in the public eye" receive a great deal more critical publicity and attention than those operating with more anonymity. So as you assess your employment opportunities, be sure to seek out the positive aspects of the firm's reputation in addition to noting negative publicity the company may have received.
