Cuyahoga County Budget Commission Work Values

Daily Duties at Cuyahoga County Budget Commission:

Assist selected Cuyahoga County cities, school districts and libraries with developing a budget, submitting that budget, and monitoring the changes for their budgets through use of Microsoft Excel, all in a timely manor, according to the Ohio Revised Code. Calculate, verify and consolidate financial data and variances such as debt to income ratios for District, County and State use. Analyze past and present financial information to calculate bond and note rates to suggest to the entities so that proper funding is available for the following year. Assisting with the state audits that each entity has to go through by supplying information such as variances in funding and expenses reported. An intricate part of the County audit that was performed for the 2008 tax year by tracking through out the year and preparing the Fixed Asset and Construction in Progress portions to submit to the state for approval. Increased productivity and turn around time of requests within the budget commission in each year of employment. Assist taxpayers in understanding and calculating their taxes bills and levy information such as possible increases in tax millage and how their tax revenue is dispersed.
