Daily Duties at Department Of Commerce:
Direct and supervise an office and field staff of over 1,250 employees Directly responsible for meeting strict operational deadlines Responsible for all departmental areas of the Local Census Office including administration, recruiting, technology, field operations and quality assurance Analyze office production operations in order to eliminate bottlenecks and impediments to efficiency Analyze analytical and anecdotal information to develop systems for an efficient office operation supporting field activities Responsible for accomplishing production goals and quality standards for multiple field operation Responsible for building effective relationships with community-based, volunteer organizations and government agencies in order to market the Census message Responsible for conducting television, radio and newspaper interviews on behalf of the Census
