Daily Duties at Con Edison:

As the Program Manager of the company’s leadership development program I was responsible for all projects and activities aimed at developing 70 new management associates. These projects included orientation, onboarding, professional development, networking, and training. I was assigned up to 40 associates to manage, assigning them to work locations, evaluating their performance, and discipling them, up to an including termination. I also conducted an independent process improvement project on the recruitment and interviewing process, finding and recording discrepancies between the company’s interviewing process and employee performance. A second project reduced cycle time in benefits processing by 80%. I managed website design and intranet server projects resulting in a new recruiting website and a new SharePoint platform for sharing files and information. As the lead DMAIC instructor, I utilized knowledge of adult learning strategies to deliver information on problem solving and acted as a senior management consultant. I am certified as a 360° Feedback coach, and often worked with managers on their development plans. I facilitated employee development classes and seminars, and developed a project management training program and Enterprise Project Management Office. I received national recognition for identifying and developing the company’s military community. My team was also recognized for environmental excellence for our efforts on recycling, energy efficiency, and employee involvement. Pertinent skills used on the job include: Project Management Professional certification, Lean Six Sigma Black Belt training, Human Resources experience.

What they like about Con Edison:

You highly value a work environment built on a formal structure, rules, and regulations. You do not enjoy the unpredictability of shifting priorities and deadlines that upset your routine. You require and enjoy direction, input and accountability as part of your work environment. You have a strong need to participate in making key decisions and feel left out if your superiors or co-workers do not seek your input when making decisions. You thrive on providing good customer service to both internal or external customers, and doing so makes you feel good.
