Daily Duties at Palmetto Richland Memorial Hospital:
• Level 1 trauma hospital consisting of 700 beds; • One of four sonographers in a facility that had positions available for six sonographers; • Heavy workload consisted of general, OB/GYN, prostate, vascular, pediatric, neurologic portable and general portable exams; • Invasive procedures (paracentesis, thoracentesis, biopsies in department and in surgery) performed on a daily basis; • 20+ portable exams done twice per week in hospital nursery, mainly neurologic exams but also included renal and spine exams; • Portable exams and ER coverage throughout day; • Call consisted of twice per week and every fourth weekend.
