Daily Duties at Illinois Dept. Of Transportation:
Performed construction inspections for box culverts, interstate highway pavement and shoulder work. Performed slump tests and concrete strength tests and asphalt tests in the field. Staked out highway alignments, small bridges and box culverts for construction. Performed bridge deck inspections for expansion joint failures, bridge deck water-proofing and bridge deck deteriorations for twelve (12) sets of Interstate Highway 74 during each season. What they like about Illinois Dept. Of Transportation:
The social vibrance of a hiring firm is very important to you. Your ability to make and maintain friendships there is a critical part of your decision. You would likely be dissatisfied with a workplace that is quiet, cold, or otherwise not particularly social. When you investigate a new hiring company, ask recruiters, managers, and potential co-workers about the social life and opportunities there. This is especially important when you are relocating; moving dramatically alters your social sphere both inside and outside the workplace.
