Daily Duties at Pickett, Ray & Silver, Inc.:

Project layout, design and plan preparation for commercial and various residential developments (single-family, villas, condominiums, and apartment living). Managed multiple projects and drafting personnel. Provided all layout work and plan preparation including Site/Grading plans, Street/Sewer Profiles, Road Improvements, all Construction Details and Drainage Area Maps. Performing all necessary storm water calculations (ie: pipe hydraulics and channel) utilizing hydraulic software such as Stormcad, Flowmaster and other various hydraulic programs. Storm water detention responsibilities were to perform calculations using TR-55 For Small Watersheds and various programs as required by the municipality, Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District or County. Assisted in modeling for channels using HEC-RAS with a hydrologist. Assisted in the design of wastewater treatment plants and lift stations. Responsibilities include following ordinances and guidelines of governing bodies, attending meetings and reviewing construction plans for submittals. Responsibilities were to manage all projects from conceptual through to construction. When necessary, performing presentations along with the client to the municipalities and counties for various levels of government approvals. Attending many seminars for sediment & erosion control, jurisdictional waterways, piping manufacturers, HEC Studies (FEMA Programs), and MDNR issues were required by the company.
