Daily Duties at Cimarron Inc.:
Served as Cimarron’s KSC Site Manager and Software Safety Engineer on the International Space Station (ISS) Checkout, Assembly and Payload Processing Services (CAPPS) program responsible for leading a team of engineers to provide software safety analysis, software quality assurance, database builds, and software support for the ISS flight systems and ground support equipment (GSE). Software safety analyses were performed during the entire software development life cycle (software requirements specification, design, code and test) using Critical Items List (CIL), Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) techniques on all CAPPS safety critical GSE and Checkout Systems software. Performed Hazards Analysis to identify potential hazards which may be caused by software, and provided recommendations for detecting and mitigating those hazards. Developed the CAPPS Software Safety Plan, Standard Practices & Procedures, Desk Instructions and provided Software Safety Training in compliance with the NASA Software Safety Standard (NASA-STD-8719.13A) in establishing and implementing the policies, requirements, processes, and standards that effect and govern planning, architecture, assurance, acquisition, design, development, management, security, utilization and measurement of CAPPS Software Systems.
