Daily Duties at Pittsburgh Public School Pittsburgh:

* Accountable for all District database and application issues including PeopleSoft web, application, and batch server. * Design, build, deploy, and maintain production, test and development databases for the Student Information, Human Resources and Financial systems. Responsible for release of database objects from development into production. Provide support for database queries and schema for the development team. Resolve and monitor all database performance issues. Applied security patches and created security schemas for all of the district databases * Design, develop, and implement backup and restore procedure for database applications to insure a successful disaster recovery. Interfaced with outside vendors for technical support as necessary * Responsible for pulling and reporting data using SSRS for internal and external uses. The data was later used to aided a decision maker visualize data, track trends and make necessary changes. Reported data including Gates Foundation, Pittsburgh Promise, school closing, assessment data results, misconduct. * Configure, deploy and create SSIS and DTS packages to import and export data for Gates Foundation, Pittsburgh Promise, and other mission critical data from our Human Resources, Financials and central student databases to secondary databases or flat file. * Collaborate within the IT group to insure database application functionality and configuration. Involvement including 3 server migrations which entailed Plate Spinning, reinstalling OS, Microsoft Cluster Service 2 node cluster for database and application clusters, any additional database server software, and the migration of all SQL Server databases. Create all supportive documentation for all database systems.
