Daily Duties at M2 Z Networks, Inc.:
Helped raise four rounds of financing from Kleiner, Perkins, Caufield & Byers, Charles River Ventures and Redpoint Ventures. Member of senior management team with extensive involvement in all business and strategic planning and decisions. Business responsibility included role in negotiating agreements with leading technology vendors, financial sponsors and consumer device and distribution partners. General counsel responsibilities included oversight and management of legal and corporate governance matters, including management of five sets of outside counsel. Managed a group of 12 employees and contractors with a nearly $3 million annual budget in an extensive spectrum acquisition effort involving the Federal Communications Commission, the National Telecommunications and Information Administration, and Congress. Helped establish a coalition of hundreds of public interest groups, municipalities, small businesses, state and federal lawmakers, and over sixty thousand consumers that advocated for the development of the free broadband network. Formulated press and outreach strategies to educate the public and maintain and enhance the corporate image.
