Daily Duties at Video Monitoring Services:

Joined VMS to manage business critical projects and to develop methodology, process and procedure in order to foster a better Project Management discipline and competency throughout the company. Held responsibility for broad range of PMO related functions including portfolio management, as well as numerous functions within the SDLC process such as resource management, budget management, and project scheduling & tracking. Selected Highlights: • Project Management Methodology – Created and maintained a phased Project Management methodology. This included developing an entire new suite of processes and procedures. Developed all SDLC deliverable definitions, templates and phase gates to be used company-wide, in all projects with an IT component. • Project Portfolio – Created and maintained a complete portfolio of all IT projects and major maintenance initiatives, including an Executive Summary and Dashboard. Managed resource allocation across all projects and developed metrics from all IT departments for use by Senior Management. • Oracle-based Media Capture, Indexing and Searching Application Suite – Stepped in to manage a failing project over 6 months after initial delivery was anticipated. Restructured project and recalibrated project schedule to deliver first phase within 3 months and second phase within one additional month. Included management of a team of 20+ resources including outsourced contract with over 15 development resources located in India and 4 team members in the US Mid-west. Allowed the company to cut production staff by 45 and move facilities to a less expensive location, potentially saving the company $1.2 million within 1st year. • Oracle and Autonomy-based Real Time News Capture, Indexing and Searching Application Suites - Managed the full SDLC of a set of leading edge projects to allow the capture, indexing and searching of news articles and media, one component of which was a near-real time alert and playback application. Included management of a project team consisting of 25+ resources including outsourced contract with over 15 development resources located in multiple sites in India and 6 team members in the US Mid-west. Managed a project budget of over $2 million over the course of 15 months.
