Daily Duties at Texas Instruments, Inc:

Performed a wide-range of construction activities including Estimator, Designer, and Planner. Handled Drawing Control and Standards including preparation of a full set of field drawings. Interfaced with Safety, Manufacturing, Planning, Q.C., Engineering Departments, Dallas City Inspectors, General Contractors, and Sub-contractors. Provided management with historical and statistical data regarding problems and solutions and offered guidance to groups involved in reducing product variation and improving quality. Instructor for an AutoCAD training course for 20 consecutive weeks (1991). In-charge of all phases of the design and construction buildings serving as: Project Coordinator, Estimator, Designer, and Project Planner. Worked effectively and interfaced with Facilities, Engineering Firms Contractors, and Fire Protection, in designing up to 17 drawings (including a 10,000-sq. ft. space). Served as Data Collection Node for CAD/Space to collect space charges for various buildings. Wrote an Engineering manual to support the Drawing Control System, Layer List and AutoCAD Study Group. Managed the fire protection program for numerous building construction projects and worked directly with the Sprinkler Crew in coordinating riser shutdowns with security, and closely followed the NFPA & TI standards, as well as Factory Mutual Approved Drawings. Developed the Fire Protection layout for the design of the 17 drawings (including a 10,000-sq. ft. area). Began with the company as a Drafter and progressed into Sr. Drafter/ Technician positions. Successfully initiated and managed a Drawing Control System (based on quarter scale drawing format), utilizing a three file method with separated overlay groups "permanent structure, furniture layouts and all utility layouts". Prepared a manual and quarter scale drawing numerous building and sites, which dealt with complex building systems including building structures, waste treatment systems, HVAC, furniture, electrical, plumbing, and lighting layouts. Successfully developed asbuilt layouts from field notes and dimensions. Promoted to Project Coordinator.
