Daily Duties at Michigan Department Of Corrections:
Perform duties in accordance with established policies, regulations, and procedures. Manage inmates during work assignments and in daily activities. Document prisoner behavior, facility operations and report health, fire, and safety concerns to supervisors. Patrol and inspect facility perimeter, buildings, and housing units. Work closely with peers and supervisors to maintain clear group strategies and goals. Respond with control and awareness to emergency and hazard situations. Monitor Closed Circuit Televisions, perimeter alarm systems, duress alarms, and fire and life safety systems. Maintain professional and courteous contact with government officials and the public. Utilize computer skills in report writing, data entry, offender payroll and internal security system.
