Daily Duties at Well Point, Inc.:
Subject matter expert for medical claims financial and cash disbursement systems and administrative services client support. Assess project risks and ensure risk mitigation. Deliver high-level project status reports for Program Management on a weekly basis. Supervise all phases of the software development life cycle (SDLC). Review and approve various functional and technical designs to ensure they meet business requirements. Facilitate documentation reviews and participate in post-production implementation reviews. * Lead large multi-year projects of our accounting and disbursement systems to support multiple state plan processing; the in-sourcing of claims processing previously supported by external vendor systems, and re-branding of our national Blue Cross Blue Shield business and our local Blue Cross business. * Perform enterprise analysis and needs assessments to develop project charters for enterprise-wide projects. * Responsible for projects and small system changes in our project portfolio. Direct the activities of Business Analysts and Business Systems Analysts in these efforts and manage the on-shore and off-shore technical resources that construct, test, and implement them. * Perform Sarbanes-Oxley risk assessments for our claims disbursement and revenue accounting systems and develop the controls to mitigate the identified risks.
