Daily Duties at The Walt Disney Studios – Image Movers Digital:

Designed, integrated and automated a Linux infrastructure for 450+ visual effects artists, production engineers and technical directors in a multi-site cross-platform production and development environment during the start-up phase of the company. Main duties included: • Functioning as a systems integrator between IT, Research and Development, and end-users to proliferate and expand a Linux infrastructure and migration of Windows-based production software to Unix to optimize and scale production workflows. • Designing and integrating database driven system tools employing Python, MySQL and CFEngine to efficiently manage Linux systems, remote processes, and provide systems configuration management. • Automating a configuration management system using CFEngine, PXE-Boot, Kickstart and package repository services to provide optimal deployment of Linux systems. • Mentoring and training members of the IT department and advanced level end-users in the use of Linux during the migration of the Windows platform to a Unix environment. • Integrating and deploying a color profile system for the configuration, fine-tuning and color calibration of High Definition LCD displays. This allowed visual effects artists and production managers to visualize film shots in native HD resolution.
