Primarily assigned to work for the federal defender; duties included preparation, typing and faxing of general correspondence (i.e., letters, memoranda and various other sundry case-related documents); screen calls; liaise and assisted with processing of applications for the annual Criminal Justice Act Panel Review Board; liaise and handled the preparation of foreign prisoner transfers back to their native countries (i.e., scheduling court hearings, preparing request of transfer documentation sent to federal marshals, correctional facilities, etc.); rendered assistance to in-house interpreter in translating for (Spanish-speaking only) clients during such times when said interpreter was otherwise not available; rendered assist to in-house interpreter with typing of (translated) client documents and other memoranda; notarized documents.
