Daily Duties at United Parcel Service:

Industrial Engineer, Operations Supervisor Began as loader/unloader of trucks, quickly promoted to a management position partially due to my exceptional technology skills. Successfully performed duties of an Industrial Engineer including, logistics, efficiency analysis, strategic planning, training, and implementation of system enhancements. Operations management responsibility for five part-time supervisors and over one hundred operations personnel, daily responsibility to ensure accurate and timely upload/download of the delivery data stored in hand-held devices, along with trouble-shooting failures of these devices. Demonstrated ability to successfully manage payroll recording, cost effective production, safety compliance, as well as successful enhancements to all of these functional operations. Key Accomplishments: • Developed and delivered planning process, through project management and training, to support the successful opening of a new facility. • Created and facilitated cross functional training for the implementation of an automated processing and technology enhanced bar code scanning system across New England. • Conceptualized, planned, and executed the automation of the delivery system used on Saturdays that realized gains in production and cost savings along with increased customer satisfaction. Facilitated training for this new process. • Managed the dispatch of a team of forty delivery drivers including cost effective route planning and flawless execution under exceptional timeliness and customer service metrics. • Implemented and facilitated training for technology upgrades and established controls to improve the dispatch of high priority deliveries that consistently provide quality customer service.
