Daily Duties at Outpatient Surgery Center:

Prior to case I prepared surgical back table, mayo stand, sterile equipment, sterile drapes, and sterile solutions. I prepared patient by bring them to the operating room, positioning them on the operating table, scrubbing my hands while then gowning and gloving myself, and cleaned and disinfected incision site. Assisted surgeons and their assistants with gowning, gloving, and draping the patient. Passed and retieved instruments to and from the surgeon as needed. I also held varius retractors and aided in cutting sutures. While learning various case procedures I became quite well at anticipating the surgoen's needs. Finally, I reset and stocked the operating room preparing it with new sterile items and checking equipment for proper functions.
