Daily Duties at St. John's Hospital:
Memorized case procedures for twelve surgeons. Completed six month orientation in four and a half months. I prepared the operating room by setting sterile equipment and solutions on the back table and mayo stand. I prepared the patient by draping them with sterile sheets and cleaned and disinfected incision sites. Assisted surgeons with gowning & gloving. While operation was in process I moniter patient vital signs and passed & retrieved instruments as needed. I held retractors and assisted with cutting sutures as well as keeping track of supplies. Performed multi-layer suturing of saphenous vein incision and chest closing at the end of the procedure. Finally, reset and restocked the operating room preparing it with new sterile items and checking equipment to make sure they were working properly for the the next case.
