Daily Duties at Dhl Global Business Services:

• Provided day-to-day advice and consultation to human resources and management regarding issues in all areas of employment law, including Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family Medical Leave Act, the Employee Retirement and Income Security Act, the National Labor Relations Act, OSHA and numerous state laws. • Provided advice and counsel to the human resources and labor relations teams concerning disciplinary actions and terminations of union members, as well as, responses to unfair labor practice charges. • Supervised outside counsel on employment-related litigation, ranging from single plaintiff to class action lawsuits in both federal and state court. • Drafted responses to attorney letters and negotiated pre-litigation settlements. • Negotiated and drafted employment, separation and noncompete/nonsolicitation agreements. • Represented the Company at mediations, fact-finding conferences and unemployment compensation appeals. • Conducted the Company’s legal training on employment law issues for management personnel throughout the United States, which included oversight of the Company’s rollout of a new training on conducting investigations. • Assisted with the employment consequences in 2008 and 2009 of the restructuring and eventual downsizing of DHL Express (USA), Inc.’s domestic operation, which resulted in the closure of DHL’s air and ground express networks in the U.S. and the loss of approximately 14,000 jobs.
