Daily Duties at Thermotech:

The main responsibilities are to qualify new molds from the design process to fully production approved. This includes the following: -Work with the designers, customers and groups in the pre-design process to provide input to prevent any flaws, make design improvements and provide “lessons learned” input. Also provide the information for the best fit molding machine to be sampled in. -Review the final design and approve for build. -Once the mold is built and in house, get it scheduled for appropriate machine. -Develop a process for the mold based on decoupled 3 molding to provide a statistically capable process. -Perform DOE’s to provide the best part that requires the least amount of steel adjustments. -Work closely with the Advanced Quality Engineers in developing the process FMEA, performance testing methods, perform gauge R&R’s, review DOE results and develop manufacturing control plans. - Provide methods for equipment and process verification and validation, -Perform margin analysis to compare actual margins to quoted margins then make improvements as necessary. -Provide all the final processes flow, procedural documentation and tools needed to manufacturing departments so they can successfully support the mold. -I have extensive experience in electronic process monitoring and cavity pressure monitoring via Mattec and RJG equipment. I currently administer the Mattec system, both software and hardware and oversee all cavity pressure monitoring. I have developed and written set up procedures to use this information to divert bad product parts from good parts based on process spec limits.
