Daily Duties at Smci @ Amgen, Inc.:

Serve as SME (desktop computing services) to IS Learning Management System (LMS) team, affecting continuous process improvements. Provide knowledge, direction, and testing for the design and content of the Service Catalog Delivery Management tool used to process IMAC (install/move/add/change) hardware requests.  Offer guidance and recommendations to IBM in Amgen’s technology outsourcing conversion:  Transitioned “refresh” requests, involving evaluation of desktop, laptop, and monitor upgrade requests. Trained India-based IBM IMAC coordinators in using service catalog to process desktop computing service requests. Recognized by Amgen during meeting with IBM VP for seamless transfer.  Review and resolve 20+ hardware and software requisitions per day, a six- to seven-figure expense. Ensure timely and high-quality cost/benefit analyses in consideration of clients’ business needs and Amgen’s IS compliance standards, procurement policies, and SOPs. Partner with change management, space planning, and human resources teams to manage technical aspects of on-boarding new hire, site transfer, and move issues. Successfully resolved 100% of on-boarding conflicts.  Manage all data recovery procedures for corporate site (10,000 employees) and monitor internal IS data recovery requisitions (often concerning highly confidential and sensitive data). Ensured no loss of data in 205 recovery jobs. “Melissa… demonstrated great customer service time and time again.
