Daily Duties at Dept. Of Information Services (Dis) State Of Wa:
Reporting directly to the Assistant Director. Promoted to manage a $4 million plus operating budget and 12 full-time employees, of which four had senior management responsibilities. Managed the physical security (10 officers and security operations), Homeland Security (working with Camp Murray), lease negotiations and DIS warehouse operations. Provided sponsorship and oversight of all projects. Generated recommendations concerning deployment of divisional resources to agency executives and managers. Promoted to provide consultation to the Assistant Director of CSD as well as key executives of state agencies on technology deployment issues. Coordinated multi-agency customer relationships using Project Management methodologies in the application of computer technologies. Provided senior level representation to major DIS customer agencies and influenced the success of approximately $39 million dollars in services provided to state and local governments, Indian Tribes, and non - profit organizations. Directed a staff of six full-time employees, tasked with the management of facilities and security for the DIS data center complex and multiple DIS office buildings. Control a $3.4 million dollar annual operating budget. Major accomplishments: Completing a $10 million-dollar upgrade to the state’s current processing facility - on time and under budget (with realized savings exceeding $1.5 million dollars). Team earned Project Team of the Year Award for 1994 presented by the Puget Sound Chapter of the Project Management Institute and the Governors Governing for Results Award for the Security Staff Process implementation.
