Daily Duties at American Showa:
Recruited to contribute toward achieving company objectives and an integral part of the inner workings of the business. Structured and managed all functional areas related to financial operations including general ledger, financial reporting, cash management, tax, budgeting and forecasting for three US locations. Oversaw month-end close activities, corporate/expatriate tax returns and coordinated year end audits. Ensured compliance with prevailing GAAP accounting, reporting and JSOX and SOX standards. Member of Senior Leadership Team, presenting recommendations based on financial analysis and projections, cash flow performance, market trends and sales projections to develop and execute strategic initiatives. Mentored, coached and developed staff of 15. Key Achievements Reduced operational costs over $500k through implementation of three cost improvement initiatives. Uncovered gap in invoicing sales pricing, recouping $550K in revenue billings. Drove project to centralize four accounting locations into corporate office, realizing $75K in savings. Spearheaded efforts to reduce costs by initiating RFP process for external accounting services, resulting in $125K reduction in fees.
