Daily Duties at Department Of State:

 Send Pre-Arrival information to all newly assigned personnel and families and carry out orientation and welcome programs to assist newcomers  Coordinate Embassy sponsor program and provide guidelines on sponsor responsibilities  Provide transfer and re-entry support to Mission members leaving post  Provide information to family members on employment options both inside and outside the Mission  Advocate for family member employment and recommend policy initiatives to post management  Serve as non-voting member on Post Employment Committee, Housing Board and Recreation Association Boards, presenting community concerns to these boards as appropriate  Maintain contact with all schools attended by Mission children and compile updated information on childcare and pre-school options  Maintain a community accessible resource area to include information on topics of interest to the Foreign Service community  Design and write the post newsletter, complete reports on schools, employment and activities on schedule  Liaise with Regional Security Office to provide information on security concerns to the community, attend Country Team and Staff meetings and help coordinate contingency planning in the event of evacuation  Provide confidential support to Mission members, recommending referrals as appropriate and maintain listing of local and Washington based resources for referrals  Plan and carry out morale enhancing events of interest to the community in the areas of U.S. traditions, Host Country Culture, and social and educational recreational activities
