Charged with improving material management processes for $36B, Fortune 100 company’s $4.8B mobile devices product line. Ensured new product introduction (NPI) builds and volume new product launches completed without material delays. Managed vertical integrator supplier’s material and delivery expectations. Carried out material cost analyses and identified areas for cost reduction. Coordinated as many as 100 vendors per program, with 25 top suppliers. Negotiated product and program needs. Communicated with, and monitored, outsourced suppliers and global transportation companies. * Facilitated 20% increase in operating earnings and 40% increase in shipments in 2005 by enabling 600,000 unit build in one quarter. * Contributed to 6 successful product launches from 2005-2007 by streamlining planning windows and producing delivery plan goals to support 500,000 unit average product ramp up. * Met material delivery, development, and customer ship goals for product launches averaging $70M in material spending (2006 and 2007). * Obtained $118,000 material charge rebate from outsourced partner in China, which brought costs into alignment with direct material targets. * Saved $678,000 by negotiating production pricing, rather than prototype pricing, for volume tooling. * Reduced program overhead improving shipping reliability and reducing shipment frequency 33%.
