Work with teams to develop a wide variety of synfuels technologies including in-situ oil shale, slurry shale, coal liquefaction, syngas conversion and generally to assist as an internal consultant to chemists and other developing novel reaction chemistries; verified the effect of ash on oil yield for pressurized SRC-II Process, correctly predicted oil yields via a first principle mass and energy balance model of Gulf and Amaco joint Rio Blanco below ground retort, significantly reduced costs and accelerated data collection from large scale pilot plant for Lugi oil shale retort via ASPEN simulation, provided signicant input in direction for syngas conversion pilot development and catalyst deactivation issues; determined via ASPEN and other simulation techniques means to separate fine particles from oil vapor via steam injection for slurry shale process (the most significant bottleneck for the process implementation)
