Daily Duties at Whirlwind Building Systems, Inc:
Supervised and technical control of metal building design projects contracted to outside licensed engineers or outsourced to international design resources. Prepared formal design calculations for customized steel buildings, including ordinary steel moment frames, concentrically braced steel frames, metal cladding, mezzanines, and other steel components. Reduced cost and weight of the structural steel elements and maintained conformance with company standards and building codes. Reviewed drawings for permit, construction and fabrication details to ensure building code and design compliance throughout the manufacturing process. Provided assistance to sales group; accurately and efficiently estimating building system for company quotes proposals. Solved many complex structural problems in 262 projects of my design, provided sales assistance for 36 projects and supervised 288 projects contracted to outside engineers; ranged in size from 5,000 to 20,000 square feet.
