Daily Duties at Streich's Distributing And Leasing:

Upgraded the technologies and facilities of an aging retail and wholesale distribution company with two stores, six warehouses, and 156 employees. Installed updated computer networks and register systems in the retail outlet, and SAP-based inventory tracking software for the warehouses. Identified new distribution channels and vendors. Managed daily retail store operations and warehouse outflows. Accomplishments: • Suggested/oversaw store appearance modernizations that increased retail customer visits and increased annual sales from $1.6M to $4.7M. • Proposed and implemented a new IT system which facilitated the rapid sale of over $2.3M in old warehoused merchandise. • Lowered corporate overhead through decreasing staff by 16%, and shifted many remaining employees from full-time to part-time status, further decreasing overhead by reducing employee-related costs. • Encouraged the modernization of transportation equipment to improve delivery methods. Streamlined supply chain operations and improved daily productivity by updating and replacing software applications. • Managed, motivated and trained 75 employees in sales techniques, product knowledge, merchandising strategies, logistical operation standards and computer software. • Implemented ISO 9000 and OSHA standards for four branch warehouses and two retail stores.
