Daily Duties at Universal Studios Inc.:

Provided expert oversight of existing technology and advised senior management on new and emerging technologies. Developed, coached, and mentored department and project staffs of vendors, contractors union trades, technicians, planners, accountants, and engineers in support of problem solving solutions for business and technology. Developed 5-year Strategic Plan with McKinsey & Co. consultants. Provided leadership as a committee member focused on technology solutions to gain a competitive edge, business operations, and process mapping. Researched and Deployed a Studio-wide IP based Security Surveillance Systems for the VP of Operations to monitor studio safety and increase operational efficiencies for Citywalk and the lower-lot Studio Tour. Project included research of new Fiber technology, financial feasibility studies, facility impact studies, procurement of equipment and contractor services, test and adjust, final acceptance, and workforce training. Researched and Deployed Cost-effective Surveillance and Access Control systems in the studio bank fault and warehouse operations to facilitate loss prevention. Projects included evaluation of existing systems, financial and technical analysis of new design requirements, installation of infrastructure, procurement of equipment and contractor services, test and adjust, final acceptance, and workforce training. Directed a staff of (25) technicians in support of Sound & Video Technical Operations and Project Delivery. Controlled operating budgets of $2.1M annually. Maintained existing surveillance technology and projection systems, EDITED, ENCODED and TRANSFERRED VIDEO and AUDIO utilizing AVID Media Composer and GRASS VALLEY Broadcast equipment. Budgeted through the Power Crisis using new SMART-GRID Energy Management technology. Researched, Purchased, and deployed an (IT) solution that allowed the CFO real time analysis to control/monitor usage from his desktop. Penalties were reduced and operational savings of over $1M were applied to project ROI. Engineering & Technology Liaison between Technical Services group and Planning & Development. Outcomes: Ensured the interests of Technical Services Group were fully represented during the planning and construction phases of all Capital Building Projects.
