I was hired under a management directive to diversify the division's heavy dependence on commercial aviation via entry into the military market. Until that time, orders & sales were split between the air transport (90%) and business aviation (10%) markets. Less than 6 mos into a 3-yr plan, I had trial retrofit hardware established with both the Air Force and Navy. The events of 9/11/2001, unfortunately, severely impacted the company's air transport market share with resulting in 95% layoffs and subsequent sale of the company's IP.
